The introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) is most probably the biggest administrative challenge for businesses in the UAE in the coming years. Many organisations have offered introductory workshops to explain the basic concept of VAT to those who have not been exposed to this kind of tax so far. As most foreign companies are familiar with the concept of VAT we do not offer such a basic workshop to our members.
But now the introduction of VAT is imminent and most regulatory details have been released by the authorities. Spearheaded by our board member Mr. Markus Susilo, the Austrian Business Council will hold a breakfast meeting covering the latest available information on the introduction of VAT and a holistic approach to VAT impact assessment. The meeting will also be attended by guests from the South African Business Council and the British Business Group.
