The highlights of the ABC “s 10 anniversary Beach gala celebrations included the introduction by Werner Baumgartner and his presentation of awards to key ABC board members including Dr. Wolfgang Penzias, Josef Kleindienst, Theodor Strohal, Klaus Eidelpes, and ABC’s core team members Marie Luise Hohengassner.

Mr. Richard Bandera, the Austrian Commercial Counsellor took the opportunity to highlight the positive outlook for the economy ahead and his hope and vision for the Austrian Business Council to grow from strength to strength. He particularly emphasized Austria’s participation as an innovation hub in Expo 2020. Meanwhile, the Austrian Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Andreas Liebmann lauded ABC’s efforts to support Austrian enterprises successfully and wished the Austrian Business Council another successful decade and more.
Soulful renditions by popular Austrian Soprano Bettina Schweiger with Russian pianist Tatiana Tarakanova took the celebrations to the next level. Ten- year-old violinist Elisa Charlotte Lankow also delivered a scintillating performance. Two mascots dressed up as Krampus brought a mischievous touch to the evening with their antics while rendering a special Christmas feel among the guests. From dainty starters to an exquisite array of Austrian delicacies”” there was much to sample. To add, the mood and vibe of the mesmerizing location was brought to life by the foot tapping music of DJ Akmaral Matkali.

AUSTRIAN BEST BUSINESS IN THE GCC AWARD 2015

“¢ The Award Ceremony will take place during the ABC Christmas Gala Event at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai on December 15th, 2015.
Please note that company size and turnover are not relevant criteria for judging. We seek for companies that were able to leave a footprint in the GCC and contributed in the promotion of a positive image of Austria. This year the judges will emphasize on entrepreneurial activities.

“Rethink Gulf – From Integration to Education” is the topic of this year’s conference. A keynote speech by H.E. Hamad Buamin, the President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dubai will highlight the “Economic Opportunities of Dubai” followed by a panel discussion featuring Dubai´s Economic and Social Transition towards Expo 2020 and Dubai 2021. Presentations and discussions dealing with the topics of Successful Integration into the Arab Business World and a panel discussion on Corporate Social Responsibility will be dealt with in the morning session. Following a networking lunch, two parallel panel discussions will center on Integration of Foreign Education and Integration of Austrian Technologies in the project business and the construction sector in the Gulf Region. Breakout sessions featuring Iran, Iraq and Pakistan and the opportunity to meet the Austrian Commercial Counsellors from Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Tehran, Erbil, Muscat and Doha for 1-on-1 meetings will be the highlights of the afternoon.
The day will be rounded off with an exclusive Dhow cruise under the courtesy of the Vienna Economic Chamber around the Dubai Creek which will allow you to meet the experts and network with the Austrian business community throughout the evening.

Ms. Verena’s rich and extensive work experience includes some of the top museums in the world including MAK Museum in Vienna, the Beyeler Foundation in Basel, MOMA in New York and the Museum of Design in Zürich. She has also worked with the renowned designer Helmut Lang for over 20 years.

Results: Election of Executive Committee

It’s our great pleasure to announce to you the new Austrian Business Council (ABC) Executive Committee that was elected on Thursday, 30th May 2013 during the ABC Annual General Meeting at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai.
The main purpose of the evening was to review the progress and activities during the past two years (June 2011 until the end of May 2013) of the ABC and to elect the Executive Committee for the coming 2 years. The meeting was only open to members of the Austrian Business Council.
